WESTPORT – Carolanne Curry, a lifelong resident of Connecticut and 25-year resident of Westport, has decided to throw her hat in the ring in the race for the 26th State Senate District.

Comprised of Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton, the district has historically voted Republican for the seat. 72-year-old Curry, a Democrat, remains unfazed.

“I think one of the reasons that has happened is that Connecticut has a history of electing very moderate Republicans like Chris Shays,” Curry said. “However, I think it’s a very unhealthy thing to do to let a Republican candidate run unopposed.”

Curry is referring to incumbent Sen. Tori Boucher, who she plans to challenge in the Nov. 6 election.

Except for the typo, the article was fine. However, the photo was really bad. Image is so important in today’s visual world . This photo did you no favor. Was that the best one you had ?

    • Carolanne Curry says:

I called them and asked who was proof-reading for typos and I didn’t get an answer….That’s telling, isn’t it?
I asked about the picture after he took about 20, and he said he thought he’s picked out the best. Either it’s his taste or the others were baaaad!

Actually, two typos. Think should be thing and unphased should be unfazed. I think the picture is fine.

    • Carolanne Curry says:

well I have to wonder after he took 20 pictures how one looking down is the one he chose
but the candidate couldn’t choose. If one picture conveys a 1,000 words, at least I look healthy!

Interesting. I guess I don’t care much about what your photo looks like. You look like you have vitality and are a doer. That’s what counts. Now, having actually read the article, it seems you have your ears on. You are willing to listen to the people’s needs, concerns, and needs. Older residents and education are key to success as is making a profitable and productive environment for business. Without sound education for our youth there is no reason for business to relocate here. Without business growth, there is no jobs, etc.-it all works together.

Curry sounds like she might be a mover. I for one, would like to hear more and I am an independent republican. And, at the moment I am listening to Curry.
